MnDOT-DEED 35W/Lake Street
Reconstruction Training and Placement
(RTP) Program in 2018
The MnDOT-DEED 35W/Lakes Street Reconstruction Training and Placement Program provides job training opportunities for women and minorities who are underrepresented in the highway construction industry.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), and a Minnesota Community Based Organization (CBO) HIRED are partnering to provide basic highway construction laborer training, support services and job search resources to qualified participants.
You must meet ALL of the eligibility requirements to be considered for an MnDOT-DEED RTP Program interview:
License, automobile and insurance.
You must possess a current and valid driver’s license. If you own a car, you must maintain insurance coverage and be able to provide proof of insurance.
Program participation is limited to female and/or minority job seekers
High School or GED
You must provide proof of receiving a high school diploma or a GED.
You must be able to do extremely strenuous and heavy work in demanding/severe weather conditions.
English Language Skills
You must be able to speak and understand English fluently in order to quickly follow important work and safety instructions.
Basic Arithmetic Skills
You must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and work with fractions, decimals and percentages to work in construction jobs.
Email Account and Telephone
Email is used for distributing Program information and updates, so you must have an active email account. You must also have an active telephone number or have a voice-mail (messaging) service.
National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC)
You must achieve a minimum score of level 4, Silver Certificate on the 3-part NCRC test.
