Tiller Corporation is seeking qualified applicants for the following position:
Title: Heavy Equipment Welder
Department: Heavy Equipment Shop
Reports To: Equipment Manager
This is a union position (Operating Engineers Local 49). Performs maintenance and repair of heavy equipment/machinery and mining equipment (i.e. crushers, screen plants, and conveyors).
Summary of essential job functions:
Performs maintenance and repair of a variety of heavy equipment year round in both in-shop and field conditions. Operates a service truck throughout the Twin Cities metro area to maintain and repair all assigned mining and off-road heavy construction equipment.
Education/training and experience welding MIG, TIG, Aluminum, Wire Feed, Stick Welding, OXY/Acetylene, Air Arcing; both field and in-shop environments. Experience with steel fabrication, and pipe welding. Class “A” driver’s license preferred or able to obtain, and a clean driving record. Mechanic must be able to provide, maintain their own hand tools. Previous experience as a welder in the mining and or heavy construction industry is desired. Certified welder certificate from an accredited trade school required.
Must be able to climb ladders, able to frequently bend, lift and carry at least 75 pounds on a regular basis. Must be willing and able to work long shifts when needed (10-12 hours) and occasional weekends.
