APPRENTICE (entry level) COMMERCIAL ROOFER
What is commercial roofing?
Commercial roofing projects can include: shopping centers, factories, warehouses, schools, auto plants, office buildings, hospitals, and apartment buildings. Types of roofing include traditional hot asphalt built-up roofing, single ply, and modified bitumen roofing.
Wage and Benefits:
First Stage Apprentice Roofer (no experience) $20.44 per hour.
From this $.75 per hour worked is deducted and submitted to Roofers Local Union #96 for initiation fee ($450.00 total). Regular wage increases per union contract.
Journeyman Roofer Wage $39.30 per hour (after completion of required Roofers Local Union #96 schooling and accumulation of 6,000 hours worked).
Roofers Local #96 Health Care Plan (effective at 2nd stage apprentice – 860 hours worked), Roofers Local #96 Pension Plan, Roofers Local #96 Annuity Plan
Training: Provided “on the job” and also through Roofers Local Union #96 apprenticeship school.
Safety: John A. Dalsin & Son, Inc. actively promotes and encourages a safe working environment.
Work sites will vary within the Twin Cities and surrounding suburban areas. Project sites may not be accessible by public transportation. Applicants are required to have a valid driver license and/or reliable transportation.
Company sponsored transportation is not offered or provided.
The number of work hours available per week will vary depending on weather conditions. Outdoor work only.
Pre-placement requirements -Physical, drug screen, body mechanics screen (lifting techniques) and background check.
